We are now creating a series of video interviews with political leaders and other intriguing people. The aim is to share ideas for making progress as an interconnected society.
We began this project in July 2019 with a wide-ranging interview of Dr. Heinz Fischer, former Federal President of the Republic of Austria and co-chair of the Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens. Heather, Nour and Rania conducted this interview which was supported by Webster Vienna Private University (WVPU); Rania recently received a full-time scholarship for the WVPU International Relations Bachelor’s program.
During the interview, Dr. Fischer noted: “Supporting education and youth entrepreneurship and raising awareness for global citizenship issues, are important measures to support solutions to today´s global challenges. Young people, women and men, of all cultures can make a significant contribution, no matter how small, to society, by looking beyond the narrow scope of personal or national interest to act as global citizens.”
The next interviews will be at European Forum Alpbach in August 2019. Suad, Nour and Heather look forward to interviewing former United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and others in that beautiful Alpine setting.
We are now developing a project involving the innovative use of educational technology to communicate about refugee issues, climate change and other urgent global topics within an interconnected SDG context. The aim is to engage youth in a ‘Leave No One Behind’ context. More here as the project develops…
